Decaf
Our strong ethical and environmental commitments extend to our decaf offerings in our long-standing use of coffees that have undergone the Swiss Water® decaffeination process. We prioritise having coffees, be they decaf or not, that don’t compromise on flavour nor on minimising environmental and social impact; which has since our inception made the Swiss Water® process the clear choice for our decaf line.
Non-toxic:
Swiss Water® guarantees that no chemicals are involved in the decaffeination process. Caffeine is removed using a saturated green-coffee-extract over an eight to ten hour process and a regenerative carbon filter process.
Non-intrusive:
The use of green-coffee-extract, already saturated with naturally occurring properties of coffee, means that although caffeine is removed, no other characteristics are lost. This means no loss of flavour, body, or clarity. Coffee that tastes just as good, without caffeine.
No Compromise:
Due to its aversion to chemical processing, the Swiss Water® process creates no demand for the synthetic production of chemicals, reducing environmental strain caused by its production.
Furthermore, the Swiss Water® process upholds key ethical supply-chain certifications, and operates with a close relationship with Grounds For Health, contributing to efforts that improve the position that women hold in the coffee supply chain.
