A Conscientious
Approach to Coffee

A Warm Welcome Awaits!

Welcome to Wooden Hill Coffee Roasters.

Our coffee roastery is open 7 days a week to the public and trade. Walk up here through the fields from Ampthill Great Park or find us just off the A507 near Center Parcs (sorry about the state of our drive!).

You’ll be captivated by the roasting aromas before you even get anywhere near us and with a range of different origins, roasts and blends we have something to suit your home cafetiere or your chain of restaurants!

And remember, the more coffee you buy, the more trees we plant within the Forest of Marston Vale.

Visit the Roastery!

Why not come up to the Milbrook roastery yourself. We’re just as busy serving coffee to those walking from the nearby Ampthill park as we are roasting, blending, and packing coffee. All our team members are drilled on all the wonders and complexities of coffee so are on hand to advise, offer insight, break down our varied selection of Fairtrade and direct trade single origins, and, importantly, serve a coffee informed by decades of industry experience and training.

Our outdoor seating area has ample room for groups large and small, two wooden canopies for shelter, and our bustling vegetable patch; all put together by materials that have made their way through the roastery at some point: wooden pallets, hessian coffee sacks, and excess timber.

“Whilst in review of our coffee products and supply, we were keen to partner with an independent company. We were therefore delighted to locate Wooden Hill; not only an independent roastery but also local and in our own county of Bedfordshire. Robin’s ideals around how to operate a business in a more considerate way towards protection of our planet sat closely with our own beliefs, including Fairtrade coffee and compostable packaging.” - John M, Surfin’ Cafe

“The best coffee beans I’ve ever tried in UK. I’ve had coffee beans subscription from almost all top roasters. But the beans from this place were very fresh and the taste was just amazing.” - Google

“Very friendly service, guiding me through what choices they had. Even told me what grind size they had used so if it wasn’t quite right for my machine I could ask for a different grind size when I next came in. All for a very good price too.”
